Chicago native and jazz piano phenom James Austin, Jr. returns to headline our spring show on Sunday, March 22nd. Special guest, guitarist Charlie Sigler, along with bassist Ben Rubens and drummer Byron Landham round out this dynamic quartet.
Austin's professional career began as an award-winner in 2005 at the Thelonious Monk International Piano Competition. Extensive mentoring from the legendary jazz pianist Barry Harris followed for Austin, as did the growth of performances for him with many jazz notables. Guitarists Peter Bernstein, Rusell Malone & Bobby Broom were among them, as were horn players Frank Morgan & Joe Magnarelli & drummers Winard Harper & Willie Jones. Austin also enjoys arranging music. In a recent CD, his arrangements in "Songs in the Key of Wonder" made great jazz listening out of
several Stevie Wonder tunes.

Our Jazz & Blues Showcase has performed live jazz in a variety of venues in the South Jersey area. We've loved discovering interesting venues for these amazing ensembles!
Join us Sunday, November 3rd at 3pm at Cunningham Piano at their Cherry Hill Showroom! What better place than this iconic piano company for the James Austin, Jr. Quartet!
